What is TalesFromAbroad?

This website/travel blog is my playground. I’m a professional travel expert – this is what I do best.

I have worked in the travel industry since 2002. Most of the time as a product manager. That means a lot of traveling and a lot of research. I’m not a rookie – I know more about traveling than most people.

I haven’t crossed the Kalahari on roller-skates (nor do I intend to!) or sold my house to live like a digital nomad. Most of the year I live a pretty normal life with a 9-5 job. I just travel a bit more than most people and know an awful lot about traveling.

This is my playground where I write exactly what I want. I don’t do budget’s and hardly ever itineraries. This I do at work. Here I do thoughts and stories.
